Women's Health Physiotherapy can help treat problems such as:
- Bladder instability
- Urinary or faecal incontinence
- Weak pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles following pregnancy or menopause
- Prolapse
- SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction), pelvic or low back pain associated with pregnancy
The most common problem we see is called stress incontinence. This is the involuntary leakage of urine on increased exertion e.g. When you cough, sneeze, laugh, jump, run, lift or do exercise. This can be an embarrassing problem for many women but most tend to suffer in silence. However, physiotherapy can help - with the right guidance, you can learn to train the pelvic floor muscles to improve the closure around the bladder neck and reduce or prevent symptoms altogether. |

If you have had children you may think it is normal to experience bladder problems and perhaps you use sanitary products every day. If you have never been assessed by a Women’s Health Physiotherapist, perhaps now is the time to give it a try. |
